Some cats need a little more understanding, a more experienced home, or a gentler pace. Their differences do not diminish the love, companionship, and joy they have to give.
See the cat, not the label
Unconventional does not mean unlovable.
A missing eye, three legs, a positive test result, or an advanced age may cause people to scroll past a wonderful cat. We want visitors to pause, learn their stories, and see the individual beyond the diagnosis or difference.
Some of these cats may be adoptable. Others may need a long-term foster, a very specific home, or a place in our Lifetime Care Program.
Different paths, equal worth
Special can mean many things.
Blind or Visually Impaired
One-eyed, low-vision, and blind cats can flourish with a predictable indoor environment and people who help them feel secure.
FeLV or FIV Positive
A positive diagnosis does not erase a cat’s personality or capacity for a happy life. The right placement begins with honest education and thoughtful matching.
Golden-Year Companions
Senior cats may move a little slower, but they bring calm companionship, established personalities, and a special kind of gratitude.
Senior-to-Senior Program
A quiet home. A devoted companion. A supported match.
Our Senior-to-Senior Program thoughtfully places an older cat with a senior adult through a special long-term foster arrangement. Facilitate Rescue retains ownership of the cat and pays for the cat’s approved care and supplies, while the senior foster provides a loving home, daily companionship, and attention.
It is a chance for two seniors to make life warmer for one another—without asking the person to carry the full financial responsibility of pet ownership.
